Klar Vision came to Richporter Lighting looking for a lighting solution that would help them stand out from the competition. We provided them with a classy, sophisticated lighting design that helped to create an inviting space.
About the Boutique
This Montreal’s fashion-forward eyewear boutique has exclusive frames. Some of which are from the world’s leading fashion houses and independent designers.
The brand emphasizes style and fashion. Their exclusive and limited-edition frames are also of the highest quality. This combination makes their collections unique.
Richporter Lighting had the honour of designing the lighting of their Griffintown boutique to match Klar Vision’s unique brand identity.
The storefront’s big windows allow for abundant natural light to come in. This, along with the combination of custom lighting design, allows customers to appreciate the beauty of Klar Vision’s exclusive eye frames. The unique light also emphasizes Klar Vision’s commitment to excellence in both fashion and craftsmanship.
The boutique has a lovely blend of straight and curved shapes, adding a feminine touch to its overall aesthetic. The color palette includes elegant and soothing tones, ranging from champagne-inspired brass to earthy terracotta.
The purpose of general lighting
General lighting is essential for any space. It can significantly improve the atmosphere and comfort for those inside. The purpose of general lighting is to provide even illumination throughout the room. This ensures the optimal light level in all areas.
General lighting helps to create a positive customer experience. It is also essential to guide the customers’ eyes to the product or service the business provides.
Richporter Lighting selected fixtures with tunable wattage, allowing us to be flexible for the different spaces. Different lighting output requirements and color temperature can be adjusted to suit each room. This ensures each area has the correct lighting level.
Decorative Elements
First impressions are important. Light fixtures that act as decorative elements play a significant role in how customers feel when they walk into a store.
The luminaires at Klar Vision were chosen to adequately reflect the color of the eyeglass frames. At the same time, maintaining an overall aesthetic that is inviting and pleasing to the customer.
Choosing decorative elements with care helped to set the mood and determined how the eyeglasses appeared on display. This thoughtfulness was necessary for achieving a successful layout, which positively affects the customer experience in the store.
Custom Lighting Solutions for a Unique Experience
Main Area
Custom solutions are the perfect way to achieve a unique look and feel for a space. This was no exception to the rule.
One particularly challenging element of this project was the customized central luminaire. We needed to match the brass shade of the other design elements used in the store. Our lighting designers found a supplier that could deliver without breaking the bank.
We received and studied samples of color and finish from various suppliers. We then tested them against the materials given by the client.
The supplier had the parts painted in order to create the perfect customized luminaire the client envisioned for their store.
Finally, they were cut to fit the space perfectly and provide seamless continuous lighting, enveloping the area in a rectangular form.
Back Area
The client wanted the back area to have a unique look. Therefore, the lighting needed to be distinct and complement the overall interior design. To achieve this, we fitted the space with white downlight cylinders that featured brass interiors to match the store’s aesthetic. The tailored elements gave the area a unique look that suited the client’s brand personality.
Examination Room & Restroom
We chose LED recessed downlights for the examination room to create discreet task lighting. This will help optometrists conduct exams without distractions.
The bathroom has a soothing alcove light acting as ambient lighting and accent lighting, making it easy on the eyes.
Working with Richporter Lighting Designers
The role of lighting designers is crucial in the entire process. They work closely with various stakeholders, such as clients, interior designers, electricians, and suppliers. Their primary role is to guarantee compliance with regulations and codes while also achieving the best possible aesthetic outcomes. Our Lighting Designer really listened to the client’s vision and needs. She worked around the interior design and proposed different lighting options. The client had three different layout options to choose from. All three layouts ensure optimal lighting results backed by a complete lighting and photometric study.
