Avril Place de la Cité
Minimalism, efficiency, and high output;
the combination of these three components makes up the modern lighting solution for Avril Supermarché.
Designed to save energy and offer a unique customer experience, Avril creates a Zen atmosphere in each of their locations. Their goal is to demonstrate that we can take time to enjoy shopping, cooking, and eating. The whole experience can be inspiring and invigorating.
One of the things that makes Avril unique, is that they separate their stores and supermarket lighting into multiple sections. Each section is designed with a different lighting application to create a distinctive and eccentric adventure for their customers. Our objective was to design a solution to keep the lighting uniform throughout the entire space while keeping some variance.
The products we choose for Avril Supermarché are always selected based on the performance of the fixture, rather than the aesthetic. Providing adequate light to their products and creating a design that is consistent with their previous stores was a priority. Similarly to their previous locations, they focus on environmentally responsible and economically smart solutions. Our role was to make sure that the products selected were high-performing and energy efficient.
Color accuracy is key when designing supermarket and restaurant lighting. For this reason, we opted for track projectors, long linear lights, suspended lights, and surface cylinders. The results are lighting levels that
One of the products we wanted to replicate from the other locations, was the custom grids by Lumenwerx. These wooden focal points are a beautiful way to represent Avril’s organic and natural brand while keeping a simplistic face. We opted for a custom design to apply to the ceilings, which we believe worked perfectly in this new establishment.
